Let the second half begin

I'll be at the XL Center tomorrow for Quinnipiac on the second day of the UConn tournament. But today, it's Holy Cross at Yale here in New Haven. Holy Cross is coming off a loss to Bentley at Fenway Park last night; Yale beat the Russian Red Stars in an exhibition two days ago.

Yale looks to be at full strength with Jesse Root and Anthony Day back in the lineup. Cody Learned is playing today, as well, with Matthew Beattie a scratch.

ECAC suspends Quinnipiac's Brooks Robinson

Things got heated Saturday night in Hamden when Quinnipiac played host to UMass. Brooks Robinson, Quinnipiac's senior forward,  was suspended Monday. He'll miss Friday night's game at RPI. Here's the league release.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- ECAC Hockey today announced that Quinnipiac senior forward Brooks Robinson has been assessed a one-game suspension, in accordance with the League’s supplemental discipline process, as the result of his actions in the Massachusetts at Quinnipiac contest Saturday, November 30 at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center.

The League action was taken after review of an incident that occurred at the 19:16 mark of the third period in the Bobcats-Minutemen contest where Robinson was assessed a major and game misconduct penalty for hitting from behind.

Based upon the League’s action, Robinson is not eligible to compete in the Bobcats’ Friday, December 6 game when they face Rensselaer.
